Greenwich Heritage & Conservation Expertise

Maritime Greenwich is a UNESCO World Heritage Site -- one of only four in London. We understand the exceptional sensitivity required for installations in this internationally significant heritage zone.

The Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site

Inscribed by UNESCO in 1997, Maritime Greenwich encompasses the Old Royal Naval College (Sir Christopher Wren, 1696), the Queen's House (Inigo Jones, 1636), and the Royal Observatory. The Georgian terraces along Greenwich Church Street, Nevada Street, and Crooms Hill date from the 1720s-1790s and feature some of SE10's most architecturally significant domestic properties. Our installations in the World Heritage buffer zone require Greenwich Council Heritage Team approval and full documentation for the World Heritage Site Management Plan.

Key streets: Crooms Hill, Greenwich Church Street, Nevada Street, King William Walk, Nelson Road

The West Greenwich Conservation Area

Crooms Hill, one of London's oldest residential streets (properties date from the 1630s), climbs from the Thames to Greenwich Park. The mix of Jacobean, Georgian, and Victorian properties presents fascinating glazing challenges -- we've worked with window openings from every century since the English Civil War. The Ranger's House (English Heritage, Wernher Collection) at the top of the hill sets the standard for heritage sensitivity in this area. Properties here also experience City Airport approach noise from the east.

Key streets: Crooms Hill, Point Hill, Hyde Vale, Gloucester Circus, Diamond Terrace

The Westcombe Park Conservation Area

South of the A2/A102 Blackwall Tunnel approach, Westcombe Park's substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas (c.1880-1910) face severe traffic noise from one of South East London's busiest junctions. The Vanbrugh Park area (named after the Castle Howard architect who lived here) contains particularly grand properties with large bay windows. Our acoustic installations have transformed livability for residents here, with documented noise reductions of 42+ dB -- converting an 80 dB roar to a barely perceptible hum.

Key streets: Westcombe Park Road, Vanbrugh Park, Maze Hill, Humber Road, Mycenae Road

East Greenwich & the Millennium Peninsula

East Greenwich's Victorian terraces along Trafalgar Road and Woolwich Road are experiencing rapid regeneration as the Peninsula development expands. Properties here face dual noise challenges: the busy A206 trunk road and London City Airport operations. The Enderby's Wharf area (the historic transatlantic cable factory, now residential) requires specialist knowledge of both industrial heritage conversion and modern acoustic standards. We've installed secondary glazing in multiple Enderby's Wharf apartments.

Key streets: Trafalgar Road, Woolwich Road, Enderby's Wharf, Pelton Road, Christchurch Way
